Our Legacy
The Heart Behind the Tortilla
Some businesses are “built” from opportunity. Favored Foods was “born” from faith and legacy.
My parents came from Mexico carrying little more than faith, grit, and a love for food. My mother brought with her a love of food and the belief that a tortilla is never “just a tortilla.” In her kitchen, I learned that every tortilla carries a story—one that gathers people, preserves culture, and passes on heritage.
In 2004, with a small comal (griddle) simple ingredients, and big dreams, I opened a small tortilla shop on the south side of Fort Worth. Word spread quickly, and soon neighbors lined up for a fresh, hot tortilla straight off the griddle. What began small became a local staple—proof that authenticity and heart always have a place at the table.
Over the next 22 years that little shop exploded into a thriving tortilla company, serving families and restaurants across Texas and beyond. I eventually sold the name but the heart, the passion and the heritage stayed with me. Legacy isn’t for sale!
Today, Favored Foods marks a new chapter. With even greater faith and vision, we’re returning to our roots while re-imagining tradition with bold new flavors: Creamy Butter, Spicy Jalapeño, Authentic Chipotle, and New Mexico Hatch Chili—alongside our classic white and yellow corn tortillas. And this is just the beginning, with tortilla chips and more authentic products on the way.
For us, this isn’t just food. It’s family. It’s faith. It’s favor. From a small comal in Fort Worth to kitchens across the country, our story proves that when love and legacy meet, simple ingredients can change everything.
This is more than a tortilla.
This is Favored Foods.
From a comal on the south side to kitchens across the country—this is more than a tortilla. It’s a legacy, made fresh for a new generation.
